Meet Guidance, the reggae ambassador

I want to give a special thanks to Guidance for the blessings of his music and support. This amazing artist moved me to tears with his heartfelt “Life is a journey”. Guidance is an artist who aims straight at your soul and wont leave you untouched. Look out for his Single, ” Happy for you” when it drops December the 2nd, 2016. RuffWiRuff will be including this song in our player in the section “fresh in”. Happy for you is produced by a Swedish producer from Nox Studios and together they make one big dynamic duo. Bless up Pelle and Nox Studios family. Last but not least…a huge BIG UP to my dear sista Åse, who introduced me to their music.

Guidance, you have our full support.  Salute!

Donovan Walker, more popularly known as Guidance, has signaled that he is ready to make the upliftment of reggae music his lifelong mission.
Very serious about his craft and taking purposeful strides in the direction of progress, this conscious reggae ambassador is flying the flag high wherever he goes, even as he takes time to delve into the message of the music, whether it is spiritual, reality or a discourse on the intricacies of a love relationship. Acknowledged as one of the most talented artists to appear on the reggae music scene in recent years, Guidance is intent on making more and more fans experience the positive vibrations stirred by reggae music.
During a career that has seen him forging links with entities including Rainbow Castle Productions and later Brown Brother, both of which played integral roles in moving him closer to his ultimate goal, Guidance is now signed to Phree Music Records, a management move which is already producing great results, as the singer prepares to release his debut album. The much anticipated 14-track album is set for release in 2016.
With most of the work already completed and the tracks Girlfriend Yard and (People Have) Problems Everyday, already making an impact where it matters most, Guidance and his team are setting the stage for mega success. The single Girlfriend Yard was mastered at London’s famous Metropolis Studio by John Davis who has worked with big name artistes including Led Zeppelin, U2 and Lana del Ray. So far there is one collaboration, a song entitled Planning Again with reggae songstress, Etana. Most of the voicing is being done at Mikey Bennet’s Grafton Studio in Kingston.
A native of Portmore, St Catherine, Guidance first savoured success with the 2008 breakout single Love What You Got which topped charts from Jamaica to the UK and proved the catalyst for his appearances on several major shows and paved the way for other noteworthy singles including Too Bad For Me, Life Is A Journey and Sitting By The Window, a collaboration with artiste Ico Flamez.

Guidance has performed in the US at various venues across the East Coast, and alongside dancehall artistes such as Beenie Man and Sizzla at major events in Jamaica. He has proved himself a force to be reckoned with performances at Sting, Follow The Arrow, Rebel Salute, the annual Stone Love Anniversary Show, Spring Break in Negril, and Sumfest.
As he keeps his eyes focused on the prize, Guidance hit a new milestone when he was selected as one the outstanding acts to perform at the Caribbean’s inaugural EDM Festival, Paradise Lost, to be staged in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, March 10 – 12, 2016.
Guidance draws his inspiration from reggae legends such as, Bob Marley, Garnett Silk, Luciano, Buju Banton, Anthony B and Sizzla.
Since June 2016 Guidance has teamed up with a Swedish producer/record company called Nox and will during December release their first song together called: Happy for you. It will be on Itunes and all other downloading sights to listen to and a video will be on youtube at the same time.
