– Being a singer has always been my vision and Jah has made it become a reality –
Anthony Stanford Green was born March 21, 1974 in the parish of Kingston. Grew up in Cockburn Pen, Kingston and attended St. Judes Primary School. In 1986 he was awarded a Track scholarship to Camperdown High School.
At the age of nine 9 Anthony discovered his love for singing was getting stronger and so his friends would keep a stage show in his community on Saturdays. The whole community would turn out to this event, remembering when it was his time to sing, all those who were present would be saying there goes the real singer; this motivated and inspired him. During high school he would enter singing contests and was always called upon to perform at all school events. He was encouraged by his community, classmates and teachers to make singing a career choice.
In 1989 Anthony began writing and singing a few songs. His first big break came in 1990 when he was invited to a stage show in St. Elizabeth; he started the stage show with artiste Charlie Chaplin. He got the chance to show his talent to the people and their response was overwhelming. From then he has been recording songs and performing on a lot of stage shows. He recently appeared on TVJ Morning Time with Simon and Neville where he performed his new single Unstoppable in a sing off and came out the winner with commendation from Simon regarding his singing ability, performance and presentation.
He has currently done a single by the name of I’ve Got a Girl, recorded by Music Basket Production and also the video for this single. He got absolutely great feedback on it which has helped him in moving on to recording more songs. Anthony Green, right now is seeking to produce a lot more cultural music that happens to deal with reality.
Anthony considers himself an easygoing and loving person. The songs he records are real cultural music which preaches and teaches. One of the things he really likes to do is reason with youths and educates them about song writing and lyrics.
